Pharmacognosy is the study of plants and other natural substances as possible sources of drugs for allopathically, ayurvedic, unani, siddha system etc. It includes extraction processes, study of internal structure of different parts of plants, analysis and characteristics of different plants. Pharmacognosy laboratory is equipped with different types of microscopes, charts and extraction equipments.
